Beginning the Brick Paver Repair Process

Depending on the type of brick paver repair required in residents who live in the area of Sterling Heights, it could be anything from a simple task to a complex task. We will begin by removing the sand that is in the joints of the pavers, which will make the pavers easier to remove without causing any additional damage to the surrounding areas. We use the proper tools, either a flat pry bar or a paver extractor in order to carefully remove the brick pavers. Once we have removed the first couple of pavers, the rest of them should come out with ease.

Prepping the Brick Paver Repair Area

Once we have removed the brick pavers, the base below the pavers will need to be prepared. If this involves sand installation, then we will need to wet the area and add some more sand in order to re-level the area.  However, if it’s an aggregate installation, we will need to add more base and compact it until it is re-leveled.  It is important that the area is leveled correctly in order for the pavers to sit level, otherwise, if they are not leveled properly, it can create a tripping hazard and may not drain properly.

Time to Reinstall the Pavers

Once our brick paver repair experts feel that the area is level, smooth, and even with the surrounding areas, it is time to reinstall the previous pavers. This doesn’t just involve putting the pavers back in the hole, it’s not that simple. The base seems level, yes, but the pavers will probably need to be properly leveled so that it matches the surrounding area – this can be done with a plate compactor or a mallet – the tools used will all depend on the size of the job.
